Kelly Clarkson

KellyKelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born April 24, 1982, Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American musician, singer and television personality who came to prominence as a pop rock star following her win in the TV talent competition American Idol in 2002. Clarkson grew up within Burleson, Texas, a suburb within Fort Worth, where her voice was first noticed by her school's choir teacher when she was just a seventh-grade student. When she graduated from high school, Clarkson was sent to Los Angeles to try to become a entertainment industry. Following her return in Texas in 2002, Clarkson participated in Fox Broadcasting Company's American Idol. This singing competition gave viewers the chance to select their favourite performer. Clarkson received a lot of praise from viewers due to her captivating voice and wit. Her prize to win the competition was $1 million and a recording contract with RCA.
