Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is American Canadian singer and songwriter. She's released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk or alternative rock. They also include influences from jazz hip hop punk and the funk genre. She is widely considered to be a feminist icon. Grammy winner Ani DiFranco has been referred to as the "mother" of the DIY movement and is among the pioneers of artists who started her own record label in 1990.
