Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is American Canadian singer and songwriter. She's released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk or alternative rock. They also include influences from jazz hip hop punk and the funk genre. She is widely considered to be a feminist icon. Grammy winner Ani DiFranco has been referred to as the "mother" of the DIY movement and is among the pioneers of artists who started her own record label in 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian descent, and her mother was born in Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and performed 32 Flavors. The song was released on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. This song appears on the film soundtrack for the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized to the organizers of a workshop held in Louisiana in an old plantation for slaves. It was canceled, but she didn't show any regret.
